Home-made Buffalo Wings

I copied the recipe from The Boyfriend. He was the first one to cook buffalo wings but since I'm a better cook than he is, I made a better-tasting dish. Ha ha! Char!

It's not really difficult making your own buffalo wings. It's just fried chicken + sauce which happened to taste sweet+sour+salty+spicy. I love eating buffalo wings because it makes my tastebuds happy and contented since all the tastes are in it already. So here's our very easy recipe. Pardon the unnecessary add-ons I put here and there. I like to experiment with my food. :)

Ingredients and Preparation for the Sauce*:

  • (as much as you want) finely chopped fresh garlic, fried in butter until roasted
  • 8 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar (anong sense ng sweet sa sweet chili sauce? hehe)
  • 1 tbsp honey (I'm retarded and redundant. Sorry.)
  • crushed black pepper to taste
* Honestly, I semi-made up all those numbers. Haha. I don't really measure when I cook. Kahit ano, kahit ga'no karami. I just stop when the taste satisfies me already. I think I got the right taste though. Those measurements are just your guide. Don't be afraid to experiment!

Mix everything together in a large mixing bowl. The bowl should fit your chicken wings.

Ingredients and Preparation for the Fried Chicken:

  • 1/2 kg chicken wings
  • 1 pack chicken breading mix
  • 2 eggs; beaten
Coat the chicken with egg, then with breading then fry. Once the fried chicken turns golden and the insides are fully cooked (or some people like them rare/medium rare; ikaw bahala ka haha), set it aside on a plate lined with paper/kitchen towel.

When both are prepared, place your fried chicken wings on your sauce bowl and shake shake shake until...

VOILA!

Home-made buffalo wings. Enjoy!
