LLE Tips Part 3
After the Test and Other Important Tips
Right after my final exam (IT subject, November 4), I breathed heavily, sighed and instantly rejoiced with my friends. It's over. I had mixed emotions. I was worried about my answers for Cataloging. I'm sure I made a lot of mistakes for Indexing. And I definitely did not do well in the other subjects. I don't know. I was such a huge paranoid.
Don't be like me. Just relax, proceed with your day-to-day activities. The results won't be out in two days or more. :)
Here are some other information that you might find useful during your preparation for the LLE:
1. WHAT YOU STUDIED MIGHT JUST BE 10% OF THE ENTIRE EXAM.
Expect that only a small part of what you reviewed will appear on the test. I had a lot of unsure answers but what I did was to trust my instincts.
2. BEING A GRAMMAR NAZI IS AN ADVANTAGE
Many questions in the LLE were more of a grammar test than about your librarianship knowledge. Be keen as to proper syntax/wording and logic. Some keywords you should automatically recognise in the questions are NOT, EXCEPT, TRUE, and FALSE. Underline them in the questionnaire for emphasis (yes, you can write on the exam paper).
3. YOU'LL BE BOMBARDED WITH QUESTIONS FOR SPECIFIC TOPICS.
There are many items for shelf reading, arranging call numbers, MARC standards and situational questions. I can't tell you the exact questions (even though I can still remember some of them like it was just yesterday) because we signed some sort of a "confidentiality/professionalism" agreement stating that we must not divulge the test questions to others. I really wish to obey such clause so I just shared the topics that I'm sure were also covered on your review. Anyway, the test questionnaires vary per year so you just have to prepare.
That's it. It's 2AM and I am reaaaaally sleepy. Haha. I hope I was able to help you in any possible way.
